Something that changed how I think about skin:
Most of the aging we see isn’t really about time. It’s things like UV, inflammation, oxidative stress… basically how well your skin is handling damage on a daily basis.
Which also means a lot of it is actually controllable.
I’ve been going deeper into longevity-based skincare lately, and the shift is pretty simple—focus less on “anti-aging” and more on how the cells are functioning.
Two things keep coming up:
Mitochondria → how much energy your skin cells can actually produce
NAD+ → what they need to repair damage and maintain that function

There are ingredients that target this pretty directly. Methylene blue is a good example—it helps support mitochondrial efficiency. NAD+ support is the other piece, since a lot of repair pathways depend on it.
When those systems are working, everything downstream tends to look better—collagen, recovery, overall skin quality.
It’s a different way to think about skincare, but it makes a lot more sense the more you look into it.
